Public Works Operations Manager
The Zebulon Public Works Department is looking for an energetic person with innovative ideas that can bring their leadership talents to enhance the services provided by the department. Want someone that can think outside the box and be creative in the way that jobs are accomplished to be more effective and efficient.
This is a full-time position that coordinates daily operations, oversees maintenance and minor capital projects, and is responsible for personnel management of operations staff. Main areas would include stormwater management and roadway infrastructure, daily oversight of several 3 man work crews, interaction with the public and OSHA safety training of staff. Person must be able to read construction drawings, as-builts, prepare job estimates, perform personnel reviews and perform coaching and counseling when needed to employees. Must be able to have good oral and written communication and computer skills to perform the necessary daily functions of the position. Serves as the Public Works Director in their absence.
Starting salary based on qualifications.
