Yamhill County IT has one regular, full-time position available for a Network Administrator or Senior Network Administrator, depending on experience, who will be responsible for the design, planning, operation, security, optimization, troubleshooting, and day-to-day management of the County-wide network, servers, switches, network connected devices, and all data communications. Duties include substantial responsibility for the overall health, operations, and security of all computer networks and servers on County systems, as well as all phases of project management.
The successful applicant must be self-directed, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work in a team environment and to interact with co-workers and the public in a courteous, professional manner. This position requires significant experience with firewalls, web filters, switch installation and configuration, routing, security appliances, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, VLAN’s, ACL’s, NAT, TCP, UDP, VPN, Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server 2003-2016, server hardware/virtualization/SAN, and expert-level understanding and experience as outlined in the attached job descriptions. The successful completion of a background investigation is required in addition to the ability to obtain CJIS (Criminal Justice Information System) clearance shortly after hire.
Network Administrator minimum qualifications - A high school diploma/GED, network system operational training, and at least two years’ practical work experience in network support services with a demonstrated ability to solve most networking systems issues. College, business school or and ten years of experience in IT support services, with a demonstrated ability to solve the most complex desktop support issues are required. College, business school, or specialized training is preferable. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures ability to perform the work will be considered.
Senior Network Administrator minimum qualifications – Must meet all requirements for Network Administrator as noted above in addition to ten years’ practical work experience in network support services, including experience with the most complex and difficult network issues and a demonstrated ability to solve the most complex desktop support issues.
Full salary ranges- Network Administrator (Range 28): $5,647 - $7,034/month; Senior Network Administrator (Range 31): $6,328 - $7,766/month. Salary at hire depends on experience, but anticipated to be between Step 1 and Step 4 of the salary range. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, health savings, paid leaves, paid holidays, PERS and deferred compensation options.
