The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for a Creative Photographic Director for the University Communications department. This is a full-time, permanent staff position. 

Salary: $62,329 - $66,433

Primary Purpose of Position: This position serves as the Creative Photography Director – providing photographic support for all University publications, displays, news releases, audiovisual productions and archival and public relations purposes. Additionally, this position provides or coordinates film and photo processing and serves as a videographer in support of video productions.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Job Duties: The University is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Creative Photographic Director to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and executing a creative vision for photography that aligns with the university’s overall branding and marketing goals. The ideal candidate must quickly understand University requirements and client briefs and translate them into elegant and image-focused creative solutions, often under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects. The “Creative Photographic Director” must have experience working with a diverse creative team on large-scale projects both with and without the guidance of the Director of Creative Services. Additionally, they should possess excellent communication skills and be able to pitch creative concepts to clients and University stakeholders, as well as develop ideas and concepts for various communication professionals.

Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field and at least three years of experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed in the area of assignment.
