The University of Colorado Boulder for the campus in Boulder, CO seeks multiple Custodian I- Housing & Dining Services to clean housing and dining; report and create work orders for maintenance issues such as broken lights and clogged drains, and also for maintaining custodial equipment, chemical storerooms, and proper storage practices of supplies; remove and properly dispose of trash from all waste or desk side receptacles, dust and/or wash window sills, blinds, woodwork, doors, overhead pipes, and light fixtures, and wash blackboard and whiteboards in classrooms; clean and disinfect shower and bathrooms using "touch free" restroom cleaning system; restock all supplies in restrooms daily; empty feminine and regular waste receptacles; brush-scrub restroom floors and showers; use high pressure spray to rinse partitions and floors; use blower feature to dry floors; use a squeegee tool to clean off partitions, mirrors, and countertops; and scrub sinks, toilets, urinals and drinking fountains; clean entrances of the facilities including sweeping, cleaning entry doors, cleaning leaves and cobwebs, mopping all hard surfaces and extracting entry level carpeted hallways once a week; vacuum floors, stairwells, upholstery, and entry mats and elevator door tracks; maintain outside entrances, walks, steps by removing ice and snow with shovels, ice scrapers, or salt.
Requirements: 6 months of previous work experience in any occupation. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds of weight occasionally, up to 50 pounds of weight frequently, and up to 20 pounds of weight constantly. Ability to bend knees and body. Ability to extend arms and grasp, turn, seize, and hold with hands. Ability to work with fingers rather than whole hands as in handling. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 30 feet or more; ability to judge distances and spatial relationships; ability to distinguish and identify color. Ability to handle exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions; ability to handle exposure to non-weather related cold temperatures. Ability to handle exposure to constant or intermittent sounds or a pitch or level sufficient to cause marked distraction or possible hearing loss.
