The United States District Court and United States Probation Office for the Eastern District of North
Carolina are seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Director of Information Technology (IT) in
Raleigh, NC. This position is responsible for managing the consolidated Information Technology
Department of the United States District Court and United States Probation Office. The combined
agencies encompass ten locations with approximately 195 users. The incumbent leads a team of
technology professionals responsible for the planning, acquisition, application, operation, integration,
security, documentation, and maintenance of all court systems; support and coordination of national
programs; and support and training for judges and staff who use those systems. The systems include
servers, networks, desktops, peripherals, telephones, digital office equipment, and audio-visual
technology used for court operations.
The Director must possess excellent leadership, project management, analytical, and communication
skills; successfully direct the planning, acquisition, and deployment of all automation systems; and
coordinate and oversee operations and delivery of IT services. The Director reports directly to the Clerk
of Court and the Chief United States Probation Officer and is a member of the management teams of
the Clerk's Office and Probation Office.
This position is being advertised at a grade CL 30 and has promotional potential to a CL 31. Applications
