Kiln Operator

Triangle Brick is seeking a Kiln Operator

Duties include: 

Daily:

Visually check the following items:

1. Kiln cars in the store room for quality
2. Cars exiting and entering kiln for quality
3. Flashing groups to ensure they are in the correct state
4. Gas flow meters to verify that the gas is flowing properly during flash
5. Monitor the kiln condition using the computer system.

Push brick on the kiln cars up to prevent falling.

Pick up any brick that fall and replace

Keep track of all the products entering and exiting the kiln and be sure cars end up on the correct track.

Turn flashing valves on and off as required.

Record all quality sheets, temperature and humidity in storage room, and kiln car data on every car. 

Fill pea gravel bins up throughout shift using shovel and wheel barrow and shovel out pea gravel pits at exit of kiln.

Use a rod to ensure there are no blockages in pea gravel feeders.

Sweep kiln exit and kiln entrance

Empty limestone dump hopper with forklift once a shift.

Collect 12 brick from across the car and perform quality checks.

Enter data into computer system

Investigate and remedy cause of any alarms that occur or call for help

Once per week: 

1. Blow off dust from top of kiln using garden blower
2. Blow out exit and entrance transfer pits and transfer cars
3. Wipe down handrails
4. Sweep out away from kiln wall for sweeper to pick up

Once every other week:

Clean debris out of vestibule

Once per month:

Perform monthly greasing and inspection.
