Marketing and Public Affairs Specialist
Position Summary:
The Marketing and Public Affairs Specialist will develop and implement programs, promotions, activities and events that accomplish the Agency goals of building ridership, enhancing public support and improving the efficiency of external outreach efforts. This individual will also provide education to community organizations, agencies and individuals about Skagit Transit services through one-on-one and group assistance, social media, general marketing and printed materials.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Identify and establish effective working relationships with partner agencies and work group representatives
* Work closely with various agencies to identify individuals in need of training in order to utilize transit services
* Prepare and conduct presentations to select agenies on transit services, including Fixed Route, Paratransit and Travel Training services to better educate partner agencies
* Develop educational material to supplement agency publications including material for senior citizens or those with special needs See attached job description for complete list of duties
Qualifications
Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the job. A typical way to meet this requirement would be:
* Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations or related field
* 1 year of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- working with adults with a wide range of disabilities OR
- coordinating programs with community organizations OR
- developing printed or electronic materials for marketing purposes
* Ability to communicate in a language spoken by the portion of Skagit County population identified as having Limited English Proficiency (Spanish, Russian and/or Tagalog) preferred

* Hiring Wage; $23.17 hourly
