Mental Health Counselor
Provide individual therapy to survivors of sex trafficking, sexual abuse/assault and/or victims of general crimes and others impacted by such crimes. Counsels individuals, couples, families and/or groups. Assesses the client's situation and needs, and develops an appropriate treatment plan with the client. Provide couple and family therapy addressing sexual assault and general crimes issues when clinically appropriate. Facilitate support groups and group therapy as needed. Provide initial screening, assessment, intake, and referrals. Develop and implement treatment plans.
Maintain up-to-date, clear, and legible documentation and clinical notes. Attend team meetings and communicate with collateral contacts as necessary to facilitate treatment and coordinate services for clients as needed. Follow legal and ethical guidelines. Maintain caseload by staying current on waiting list. Be knowledgeable of community resources that could benefit clients. Participate in supervision and consultation. Stay current on necessary training and research related to the field.
