Lead Valet Attendant
As one of the leading entertainment destinations in Southern California, San Manuel Casino (SMC) caters to approximately 2.2 million visitors each year. The Transportation department serves an integral role in creating a positive guest experience through its multiple services, including bussing, shuttle and valet.
Under the direction of the Valet/Shuttle Management, the Lead Valet Attendant is responsible for delegated duties assigned by the department Valet/Shuttle Management. The Lead Valet Attendant is responsible for assisting Shift Supervisors supervising the day-to-day shift operations of the Valet/Shuttle department including: delegating assigned duties to staff members, ensuring the essential functions of the department are maintained at optimal levels, communicating service issues, safety concerns, training needs and guest retention efforts to the department Valet/Shuttle Management in order to properly ensure the successful operation of the department and coordinating with support departments to maintain service expectations of each guest and communicate service issues to appropriate departments. The Lead Valet Attendant will remain available and visible while on shift for both guests and employees to address concerns, assign guest recovery needs, and maintain employee retention efforts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Mentor, monitor, train and advise all department employees; execute department directives, goals and communications.
- Monitor and facilitate the successful daily operation of the Valet/Shuttle Department through the implementation of department policies and procedures.
- Foster consistent, excellent guest relations by resolving grievances between internal/external guests.
- Conduct employee training and/or presentations emphasizing the nine (9) quality service standards of the company as well as department quality standards intended to produce successful results for the department.
- Enforce strict adherence to both State & Federal transportation rules and regulations (present and future) that govern passenger carriers.
- Receive, review, and process vehicle accident and damage reports.
- Promote a safe work environment by conducting safety audits and meetings.
- Other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Lead Valet Attendant will have functional supervisory responsibility over one or more employees.Education/Experience/Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year casino, hotel management experience or training.
- Previous customer service and cash handling skills desired.
- Minimum two (2) years driving experience required.
- Ability to operate both manual and an automatic transmission.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point essential.
- Must have demonstrated ability exercising utmost discretion with confidential information including, but not limited to internal/external guest personal information.
- Basic vehicle maintenance experience preferred.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
- Must maintain a valid California Commercial Driver’s License, Class B or higher, with a passenger endorsement.
- Must maintain a valid California Medical Certificate.
