Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Academic Program Specialist in the Eastern Shore Child Care Resource Center (ESCCRC). This position is housed in the Salisbury office of the ESCCRC.
Primary Job Duties: Coordinate daily operations of the program to include administrative processes and communication in a busy office focusing on the professionalism of the early childhood field. This includes but is not limited to reconcile budget, keep financial records, maintain transcripts and process confidential information. Prepare materials for large groups, assist with scheduling, and take an active part in supporting the mission of the ESCCRC.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education related field. 1 year of administrative support. Computer skills appropriate to a busy office environment: word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, and email.
Able to work weekends with notification if necessary, creative planning vision, and works well in a team setting. Strong support person who is willing to take initiative, and contribute to agency growth. General knowledge of business English, spelling, and grammar. General knowledge of and skill in the use of word processing, database, and spreadsheet software to produce documents and maintain information. Skill in performing basic mathematical computations. Ability to present statistical material in table, chart, or graph form. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks and assignments. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with tact and discretion. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to operate computers and other office equipment. Ability to train, supervise, and evaluate personnel.
Preferred Qualifications: Director of child care program preferred. Knowledge of MSDE requirements for training, credentialing and accreditation.
This is a full-time, nonexempt, Contingent II (contractual), position with a limited benefits package including medical, prescription, dental, paid leave, tuition remission, and more. Starting salary is $18.81 per hour, approximately $39,232.00 annually.
