Associate's degree with course work emphasis in industrial technologies; supplemented by minimum three (3) to five (5) years previous experience and/or training that includes machining or industrial maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Under general direction, Instructor in the Computer-Integrated Machining program will teaching assigned courses in Computer-Integrated Machining as well as other industrial technology courses required for AAS degree programs in the department; teaching both on-site and distance education courses (via internet); developing, planning, and implementing assigned courses in the Computer-Integrated Machining curriculum.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaches assigned courses in Computer-Integrated Machining as assigned.
Attends professional organization meetings; represents program in industrial meetings.
Researches and purchases new equipment.
Supervises the development of new courses; researches new technology used in updating and developing courses; supervises the selection and review of text books.
Develops and coordinates program marketing strategies.
Develops and administers student testing; conducts student advisement; prepares program class scheduling; evaluates student transcripts.
Oversees the purchasing and stocking of laboratory supplies.
Designs mechanical parts used for machining projects and experiments.
Supervise the installation of computer laboratory equipment and software.
Conducts instruction and experiments for department.
Types administrative and instructional documents.
Attends internal faculty meetings.
Supplies advice to other employees about machining and maintenance processes and
procedures.
