Families Together Building Solutions (FTBS) – Pathways to Potential Worker Macomb - Full-Time
Job Description: The Families Together Building Solutions (FTBS) – Pathways to Potential Direct Worker will deliver services to families, residing in Macomb County, using a solution focused model. The social worker will provide home based services throughout all of Macomb County. This position entails working with families in their homes, using solution focused techniques identifying challenges and enhancing skills to reduce risk and prevent removal. The Direct Worker will engage children and families with multiple challenges in problem solving, in order to reduce risk of harm within the family unit, increase safety, and enhance the quality of lives at various levels. Experience in and knowledge of brief, solution-focused therapy is preferred. An understanding of the DHS Family Preservation philosophy and intervention strategies is essential. The expectation for flexibility in work schedule is necessary.
Education: An undergraduate/bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, family ecology, consumer/community services, family studies, family and/or child development, guidance/school counseling, counseling psychology or criminal justice is a required minimum. A graduate degree in social work is preferred.
