MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR
Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA), a progressive water utility providing water, wastewater and reclaimed water services to the Towns of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Supervisor at the Mason Farm Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The purpose of this position is to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations of facilities, to maintain all company assets, facilitate all maintenance tasks and develop and maintain schedules. This is accomplished by organizing and completing preventative and corrective maintenance; planning and overseeing work tasks by providing direct field supervision; organizing and reviewing contractor assistance; maintaining treatment plant and lift station equipment, reservoir pumping facilities and elevated tank sites. Other duties include developing project costs and budgets; utilizing computer programs for correspondences; rotational on-call duties responding to after hour situations as needed; participating in spill response team; acquiring quotes and estimates in accordance with OWASA purchasing policy.
Ideal candidates should be self-motivated with the ability and desire to lead others through coaching, team building, setting clear work standards and reviewing progress. Candidates should have excellent communication skills with the ability and willingness to lead and assist the team to fulfill the mission and goals of OWASA while ensuring safe work practices are followed.
Candidates must have an Associate’s degree in related field with three to five years of experience. Previous experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is preferred. Position requires a valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License. Must meet and maintain requirements for safety sensitive position. Position frequently exerts 10-25 pounds and occasionally 20-50 pounds.

Salary range: $59,001 - $90,861
