Psychologist (FP413A)
The Office of Counseling Services at Old Dominion University is seeking candidates for the Psychologist (full-time, 12 month) position. This position will provide mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and counseling-related services to University students with the goal of increasing student success. This position will also provide and coordinate training for doctoral level practicum students.
Required Education: Doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited institution.
Required Qualifications: Internship at a university/college counseling services or mental health agency. Licensed as a Psychologist in Virginia, or license eligible within one year. Completion of doctoral internship at a mental health agency. Some psychology experience in college mental health. Some experience as a psychologist in college or university counseling center or in a mental health agency. Basic/working knowledge of college student development. Demonstrated ability to work with campus partners to recruit, train, and evaluate doctoral level psychology students.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral internship at an APA-accredited university counseling center.
Conditions of Employment: Given the nature of the positions in Student Engagement & Enrollment Services that provide support to student services and/or student-centered programs, the employee occupying this position may be required to work during a university closing. There may be occasions where the employee will be asked to work during university closings as directed by his or her supervisor. These instances may include working from a remote location (i.e. telework, etc.).
