POSITION SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Insuring that all financial procedures are in compliance with the Oklahoma State Statutes
- Interact with the V.P. of Fiscal Affairs
- Maintain oversight responsible for general accounting data, including cash accountability, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and journal entries to the general ledger and sub-ledger accounting system
- Evaluate financial accounting and internal control system, policies and procedures, updating as needed
- Reconcile quarterly bond data provided by the State Treasurer’s Office to college accounting system
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the State Treasurer, the Office of State Finance and the OSU/A&M Board of Regents
- Perform special financial reports and analysis as requested
- Maintain oversight responsibility for administration of funding and accounting for federal, state and private Student Financial Aid programs and sources
- Ensure preparation of timely and accurate reports of Student Financial Aid entitlements and disbursements
- Maintain subsidiary ledgers for funds held in trust within the NEO scholarship fund for recipients of private SFA sources and other SFA providers and International students
- Supervise Business Office staff in the collection of student open accounts, maintaining accounts receivable statement preparation and mail out with data processing and business office personnel
- Review student accounts (financial, enrollment, deposit, etc.) and authorize refunds of overpayments and prepare cash corrections as needed
- Counsel student with Accounts Receivable problems assisting with problem resolution and repayment schedules
- Coordinate assignment of delinquent student accounts to collection agency, reconciling college records to collection agency aging reports
- Coordinate annual audits of college and federal programs with external audit firm, including scheduling and PBC work papers
- Assist OSU/A&M Board of Regents internal auditor as needed. Perform internal audits of college activities and/or functions as requested by college president and vice-president
- Be a part of the College community in various campus functions and student activities

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree required in accounting. CPA and/or graduate degree in business related field preferred
Experience: Five years’ experience in responsible financial management positions
Computer Skills: General knowledge of computers and financial accounting software
