NC STATE UNIVERSITY in Raleigh, NC seeks a Director, Micropropagation & Repository Unit to provide leadership in ensuring the integrity, continuity & advancement of the Micropropagation & Repository Unit (MRPU) programs. Coordinate programs, research, & activities within MRPU. PhD in PlantPathology, or closely related field of study & three years of experience as Senior Research Scholar, Post doctoral Research Scholar. Must have demonstrated experience with managing budgets, operations, & accounts, & securing funding sources through submission of grants/proposals to government entities & commodity groups; plant micropropagation, pathogen elimination & release of virus-indexed plant material of crops of interest; develop & implementprotocols for various testing & clean stock production of crops of interest, certified seed programs, trueness-to-type & variety identification of crops of interest; lead a team of specialists, coordinating daily activities& personnel supervision; and capacity building: directing interaction with growers, producers, nurseries & clients at extension and grower meetings as well as commodity field days. Occasional travel at various unanticipated extension & grower meetings throughout North Carolina AA/EOE.Background check required; credit or motor vehicle check might be required.
