Electrical Technician
Neopac US, Inc a manufacturer of Polyfoil Tubes to the Dental, Cosmetics and Pharmaceutical industry has an immediate opening for a highly skilled Electrical Technician with mechanical skills to service and perform electrical diagnostic and repairs and assist with mechanical equipment repairs throughout our facility. You will respond to requests for electrical and mechanical repairs and breakdowns as well as perform routine maintenance and upgrade equipment as necessary. Candidates must know how to read packaging machine electrical schematics and trace lines in power control cabinets and packaging machines, camera vision systems and PLCs to determine faults and/or equipment failures for repair. We prefer applicants who have two-five years of professional electrical technician and some mechanical experience. Degreed and/or candidates with military training are encouraged to apply. This is a day shift position but the candidate will provide on-call assistance for off-shift support. Electrical Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical circuit and system failures on packaging machines and make the necessary repairs.
- Utilize machine blue prints to trace multiple interconnected wire circuits from sensors, to/from/through terminations blocks to/from PLC’s. Diagnose failures in the circuits and/or PLC’s and make the necessary repairs.
- Assess, diagnose and make necessary mechanical repairs to packaging line machines.
- Respond quickly to all service requests and efficiently troubleshoot and repair electrical/mechanical systems.
- Communicate estimated timelines for repairs to those impacted.
- Prepare packaging machine changeover parts and supplies as needed.
- Maintain tool shop spare parts inventory.
- Perform preventative maintenance on packaging line machines and infrastructure systems per PM schedules.
- Conduct tests and assessments of new systems and repairs to ensure quality.
- Assemble and install electrical panels, wire harnesses, and other electrical equipment.
- Install new equipment and wiring to expand infrastructure as needed.
- Log all services and report progress to management.
- Utilize and store all equipment properly.
Electrical/Maintenance Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electrical engineering technology preferred.
- Valid electrician license in good standing.
- 2-5 years of experience working as an electrical technician and/or formal education equivalence.
- 2-5 years of PLC programming experience and educational certifications.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and all necessary equipment.
- Able to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficient with manual and power tools.
- Familiar with code requirements and company safety regulations.
