NC STATE UNIVERSITY in Raleigh, NC seeks a Senior Research Scholar to maintain & develop the NC State state-of-the art coolant boiling into rod arrays (CTF) & fuel modeling capability to interface with the CTF fuel rod models (CTFFuel) codes for modeling subchanel thermal hydraulics in nuclear reactor cores. Perform research activities within the US DOE programs & consortia & US DOE funded projects. Work with graduate students, under direct supervision, on developing applications of US NRC codes Purdue Advanced Reactor Core Simulator (PARCS) and TRAC/RELAP Advanced Computational Engine (TRACE) coupled with CTF applied to Light Water Reactors (LWRs) within high visibility international projects. PhD in Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Physics & one year of experience as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar or Senior Researcher. Must have demonstrated experience with developing thermal hydraulics subchannel & system & core physics codes, preferably CTF, TRACE, SCALE simulation suit and PARCS core simulator; multi-physics multi-scale platform developer; application of multi-physics multi-scale coupled codes to LWRs safety analysis; management of code repositories; & developing High Performance Computing (HPC) applications.
