The Finance Director is responsible for all organization managed funds (state, federal, private). This position oversees all fiscal aspects including accounting processes, policies and procedures, internal controls, financial presentation and reporting, federal and state compliance supporting the organization's statewide operations. Ensures systems and procedures are in place to support effective program implementation and provide strong internal controls. The Finance Director is a crucial member of the management team and will be expected to lead technical assistance and training of employees, financial systems development and implementation, and supervisory and coaching responsibility to the Finance department. Direct Reports: Accountant, Accounts Payable Specialist, Payroll and Account Receivable Specialist, Purchasing and Contracts Officer Travel: 10-15% Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited college or university and must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Graduate degree preferred. A minimum of seven years professional business experience in the fields of nonprofit and governmental accounting and finance, with five years supervisory/management experience in accounting and/or finance supervising; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A combination of public and private accounting experience is preferred. Preferred experience in Non-Profit organizations with a focus in early childhood education, family support, and health in the human services industry.
