Job Summary
Collaborates with accounting site leads, their affiliates, and other staff in the Smart Start Accounting and Contacting Network. Through skilled facilitation, the coordinator will draw on the expertise of the network to co-develop policies, procedures, and practices that enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Provides on-going technical assistance and other consultation to finance and other local partnership staff.
Description of Responsibilities:
1. Coordination and facilitation of forums that promote opportunities for shared learning and best practice discussion.
2. Design and implement an ongoing system for accounting sites to correspond and share information.
3. Develop policies and procedures that provide for:
1. Backup and support systems between accounting sites.
2. Increased accounting site capacity and affiliate access to services.
3. Affiliate move between accounting sites.
4. Enhanced communication between sites and their affiliates.
4. As requested, provide training and technical assistance to accounting sites and local partnerships on:
- Smart Start accounting requirements and related processes
- Accounting and other relevant software
- General ledger analysis, reconciliations and trouble shooting
- Implementation of fund accounting concepts and relevant accounting principles
- NCPC reporting and other requirements
- Contract Management
- Non-profit management best practices
5. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local partnership and NCPC staff including, participating in formal and informal teams related to continuous quality improvement, early childhood systems development, regulatory mandate monitoring, financial compliance, contracts management, and information technology design.

DIRECT REPORTS: NONE
TRAVEL: Approximately 20% of the job will include day and overnight travel throughout the state.
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field; and
* A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in accounting with three years of budgeting experience.
* Experience in the provision of consultation with a focus on building capacity of others.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication, planning, and project management skills.
* Experience in cultivating and managing partnerships between organizations.
* Experience in facilitating and coordinating discussion and problem-solving with diverse groups.
* Experience with data analysis and applying critical thinking and analytical skills. Ability to identify collective themes and goals while defining unique individualized solutions.
* The ability to work with various forms of software and technology.
* Proven experience quickly learning complex systems.
* Willingness to actively participate in a "hands-on", team-focused work environment.
* Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-energy environment that requires the ability to multi-task and implement high-priority initiatives.
* Contracting experience in the non-profit or government sector, preferred.
