Legal Assistant
The North Carolina Board of Nursing is currently seeking a Legal Assistant who will support attorneys in the Legal Department. This position calls for an individual who will perform legal research and analysis, draft legal documents, and prepare legal correspondence. Additionally, this individual will work primarily with one attorney on their assigned caseload to include prosecuting disciplinary cases. Applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact courteously and professionally with the public and nurses in a prompt and efficient manner. Position requires strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and decision-making skills. Applicant must be able to organize work efficiently and multi-task, demonstrate attention to details, and work well in a multi-functional team environment.
Education and Experience:
College degree with a minimum of 3 years of recent experience supporting an attorney with paralegal certification preferred. Position requires a high level of proficiency in the use of PC, exceptional word/data processing skills, and ability to learn custom software. Prior experience in regulation, health, or government setting preferred.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This is a hybrid fulltime position located in Raleigh, NC.
