Maintenance Technician
Overview: Incumbent repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as production equipment and machines, motors, conveyor systems, electric systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatics under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting production machinery and operating it in a safe manner, performing well in a team environment, and committing to 5S standards (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain), TPM (total preventative maintenance) and CI (continuous improvement).
Job Responsibilities:
- Promote and ensure that safety procedures and work instructions are followed at all times.
- Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on all production equipment.
- Installs, maintains and repairs electrical systems, controls, PLCs, Robotics, hydraulic, pnuematic, and mechanical equipment and components of industrial equipment.
- Responsible for performing predictive and preventative maintenance programs on all equipment.
- Maintain and repair facility apparatuses, manufacturing components, building and grounds.
- Operate powered industrial equipment using required PPE (fork trucks, scissor lifts, boom lifts) as job requirements demand.
- Responsible for following the daily maintenance schedule. Strict adherence to the lock out tag out program.
- Mandatory use of safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment at high level of awareness.
- Communicate shift handoffs with team members all departments professionally and effectively.
- Promote and maintain a clean work environment consistent with 5s practices.
- Responsible for maintaining EAM work order and PM records Mentor and coach maintenance techs.
- Participate in and encourage continuous improvement ideas, activities and efforts.
- Follow company work rules, policies and procedures.
- Ability to work and effectively communicate with others including vendors, contractors.
- Take direction and guidance from others Responsible for sustaining 5S standards (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain).
- Expected to report to work as scheduled with regular and punctual attendance.
- Responsible for completion of any additional work assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or high school equivalency AMT degree or Certification Program.
- 5 plus years' experience in industrial maintenance.
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotics, PLC Experience reading and interpreting schematics and drawings.
- Knowledge of preventative/predictive maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, perform mathematical computations, apply rational decision making principles in order to perform the required responsibilities.
- Experience with environmental standards relating to TS16949 and QS9000/ISO14001 Environmental Management System.
