The Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor. We are interested in applicants with teaching experience and/or a relevant industrial experience with a strong interest in teaching traditional undergraduate mechanical engineering courses. The non-tenure-track position duties include strengthening departmental excellence through diversity and equity; developing and teaching multiple core undergraduate courses; mentoring and advising students on diverse career options in mechanical engineering; participating in teaching-centric professional development; serving on various student-oriented committees, and providing service activities commensurate with the position.

Applicants must have an earned doctorate degree in mechanical engineering or other closely related disciplines.  The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication in English.  Applicants must demonstrate the skills and/or industry experience (e.g., manufacturing, design, or consulting) necessary to be an effective mechanical engineering educator.

Ideal applicants should have a commitment to undergraduate education and possess strong potential and/or demonstrated pedagogical skills and leadership.
