Community Engagement Coordinator
The Housing Authority of the City of Goldsboro is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Community Engagement Coordinator to team up with community members, stakeholders, and partners to spearhead engagement efforts for a neighborhood planning process. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Public Affairs, Public Health, Urban Planning, Social Work, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, engage, and build trust with community members to facilitate effective communication and information sharing
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and community partners
- Lead, manage, and coordinate community meetings and events
- Use marketing skills to plan and execute campaigns that encourage community participation Conduct outreach to diverse community groups and facilitate their participation in community programs and initiatives
Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience working with issues confronting low-income communities Strong community organizing and development skills
- Ability to engage in public speaking and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing Excellent emotional intelligence and creative problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to facilitate group discussions and lead meeting Proficiency in MS Office and social media outlets
Compensation:
The annual range for the Community Engagement Coordinator is $40,000 - $50,000 depending on qualifications and experience. This is a temporary grant funded position that may have the potential to be extended based on future availability of funds.
