Sr. Software Engineer/Analyst

Position Responsibilities:

Senior role in end-to-end analysis, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, support, and documentation of custom applications and middleware primarily based on the Microsoft.Net, MVC/MS Team foundation, Java (J2EE), Ellucian Ethos/Workflow and related tools (Insomnia, GraphQL), as well as support and integration of 3rd party applications. This includes implementation of API based integrations (Ethos/Informatica) for related systems and platforms such as CRM software (Native Salesforce and .Net Connected apps), Identity and Access Management platforms, Ellucian Workflow, 3rd party applications, and their integration with other enterprise systems, as well as assisting in compliance activities and other related tasks. This work will be done collaborating with stakeholders and team members to meet requirements and completing tasks and communicating project information to clients, project manager, or other project stakeholders while adhering to university policies and in compliance with accessibility related standards (W3C, ADA, Section 508, etc.)

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive hands on development and support (Configuration & Admin) experience with MS ASP.Net, C#.Net/Razor, JQuery, CSS, XML, JSON, PHP, PL/SQL;
  • Proficiency with commonly used development tools, such as preferably MS Visual Studio/Azure/Team Foundation, MS Visual Code, SQL Developer, and Java IDEs such as Eclipse;
  • In-depth knowledge of web design/development technologies, techniques and best practices;
  • Good understanding of configuration/admin of development/ops environment layers as well as security standards and techniques to improve stability and security of new and existing systems (OS, IIS, Firewall/SSL, etc.);
  • Experience with Web Services development and consumption: REST/JSON/SOAP/SOA/XML;
  • Experience with user interface issues pertaining to navigation, usability and functionality;
  • Good understanding of software issue troubleshooting and performance tuning;
  • Knowledge of optimizing and performance tuning for high utilization 24×7 access;
  • Knowledge of integration with third party products/platforms with existing tools (i.e., Informatica, Ethos);
  • Experience with web and application servers (containers/DevOps) and message-oriented middleware (MOM); and
  • Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, and associated technologies such as SQL, PL/SQL.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Ellucian Ethos APIs and Ellucian Workflow;
  • Experience with GraphQL, Insomnia;
  • Understanding of encryption methods and procedures;
  • Experience/exposure to working with Higher Ed. Industry and enterprise systems such as Banner, PeopleSoft, Workday, etc.;
  • Understanding/experience with Salesforce connected app architecture and best practices;
  • Experience/exposure to payment processing, implantation and PCI compliance; and
  • Knowledge of Identity & Access Management concepts, technologies, best practices and tools.
