Position Responsibilities:
- On a daily basis this position will report to the Records Clerk.
- Works cooperatively with Min No Aya Win Clinic and other local resources to ensure consistent assistance for child and family.
- Submits required reports to the designated supervisors on a weekly basis.
- Act as a resource to link the school, Human Services, home, community and other related organizations.
- Develops and maintains school-wide programs for violence prevention and social skills development.
- Guides students in their participation in school and community activities.
- Works with students on an individual basis to identify personal problems including issues such as home and family relations, health and emotional adjustments and school readiness.
- Check attendance daily and informs administration on all matters of student attendance.
- Confers with parent/guardians whenever necessary.
- Attends all staff meetings as required by Human Services and Education.
- Handles all referrals from staff to appropriate system intervention.
- Provide transportation for students as needed.
- Participates with the Child Study Team and provides services as necessary.
- Maintains professional standards toward creating confidential relationships with all program participants and staff.
- Maintain a professional relationship with all staff and community members.
- Actively advocate and demonstrate appropriate adult child interactions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Social work or related field is required.
- Knowledge of American Indian culture and ability to work with Indian Community and students is required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
- Ability to work independently and establish work priorities is required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Subject to pre-employment, post-accident, return to duty, follow-up, and random drug testing.
- Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
- Some travel is required.
