Staff Accountant
FMA is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. This new position will support the accounting & finance functions of the organization.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting & 3 to 5 years of directly relevant work experience. We also require an understanding of currency conversion from U.S. dollars to Canadian dollars and the ability to understand inter-company transactions "Due to" / "Due from". We prefer Sage 100 experience, CPA designation & previous work experience with a not-for-profit and/or charitable foundation.
Duties include preparing month-end journal entries; maintaining files & records for balance sheet accounts & reconciling activity; assisting with financial reports & chart of accounts maintenance; initiating monthly & quarterly invoices to business partners; filing state sales & use tax returns for U.S.; filing CAT taxes & foreign VAT taxes; help prepare & filing 1099's; enter G/L accounts in database; reconcile investment accounts.
