As a Hospice Aide at Emmanuel Hospice, you will serve alongside a dynamic team in a full-time (hourly) position.
Responsibilities
- Working hours of Monday - Friday 8:30a-5p
- Providing daily cares and comfort to the dying and their loved ones wherever they call home in territories within a 50-mile radius around Grand Rapids, MI.
- The Hospice Aide is responsible for providing personal hands-on care and activities of daily living under the direction of a professional nurse.
- Self-scheduling visits based on patient and family needs.
- Working in unison with an Interdisciplinary Team, including the patient and their support system, to observe and report patients' spiritual, psychosocial, and physical needs.
Qualifications
- Certified as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in the State of Michigan
- Must have a reliable vehicle to travel to patient visits.
- This position requires flexibility in adapting to the changing needs of the patient and family with weekends (every 7th weekend), and holiday (1 per year) on-call responsibilities.
- Previous experience as a CNA required, Hospice or Home Care experience preferred.
- The Hospice Aide should be able to respond sensitively to patient/family needs by observing and reporting any changes to a registered nurse or other members of the Team.
- The Hospice Aide reports to the RN Case Manager and overall care is overseen by the Director of Clinical Services.
