Director of Campus Safety and PoliceElon University
Elon University is currently accepting applications for a Director of Campus Safety and Police. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Business, Finance and Technology, the Director will manage the functional, administrative, personnel and financial responsibilities for a 24 hour/365 days a year Campus Police Department.
The director is responsible for a unit which includes Elon’s Campus Police Department which has 21 sworn officers. This unit is a NC certified unit under statute G.S. 74-G.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) with 10 years of experience with federal, state, or university police with preference given to applicants who have previous university police experience. The ability to demonstrate the highest degree of judgment and community engagement with multiple constituencies is a requirement. The Director must have or be able to quickly obtain NC certification as a law enforcement officer.
