Job Duties
The East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for a faculty position with strong expertise in medical-surgical nursing. Faculty responsibilities include planning, teaching and evaluating primarily face-to-face theory, lab and clinical courses. This faculty position will be accountable for teaching courses such as advanced medical-surgical nursing, pathophysiology and/or pharmacology for pre-licensure nursing students. The position may also involve the direct supervision of students in clinical settings. Preference will be given to applicants with recent clinical and teaching experience in medical-surgical nursing.
Minimum Education/Experience
Tenure track positions require a doctorate in nursing or related field, from an appropriately accredited institution. Non-tenure requires a Master’s degree in nursing from an appropriately accredited institution. A valid non-restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment. Two years of medical-surgical nursing experience is required.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
A valid non-restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
A PhD in Nursing is preferred or a closely related discipline with a graduate degree in nursing.
Preference will be given to applicants with recent clinical and teaching experience in medical-surgical nursing.
Teaching experience and national specialty certification is preferred.
