Content Specialist (PT) Information Systems Technology
Deadline: 11:59 pm June 16, 2019 Chesterfield County's Information Systems Technology Department is seeking a creative, detail-oriented individual to join the eGovernment Services Team. The Content Specialist will provide content owners with support to maximize their web presence using various web technology platforms. Position will be part of a dynamic team of web professionals to design, maintain and revise web content for multiple websites. Work with county departments on requirements and objectives for content delivery. Use various content management systems such as CivicPlus, WordPress and Ektron. Use web development technologies and tools such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, .Net, and Adobe Creative Suite. Provide support and guidance to content contributors across the organization on writing for the web and web optimization best practices. Aid the team in streamlining content, improving usability, mobile delivery and social capabilities using research, metrics and analysis. Assist with document management and data management projects such as creation of forms, workflows, dashboards, charts and reports. Participate in projects to upgrade the county's external website, upgrade the county's document management system and implement data visualization tools. Perform other work as required.
Please Note: Must maintain personal mobile technology as a condition of employment. Successful candidate must possess a high school diploma or GED; three years of experience or formal training in computer science, web design or a related focus; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have a willingness to learn and develop skills in web content management. Experience with web content management systems, content publication best practices such as writing for the web, web accessibility and usability, and HTML/CSS is preferred. Must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment on daily tasks and special projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check.
