Banquet Chef/Assistant Shift Leader
Ferrum College has an immediate opening for a dependable and conscientious Banquet Chef to prepare meals for college students and employees, and to assist with catered events. Responsibilities include all phases of preparation and food service. Must have excellent customer service skills. Prior cooking experience required, buffet/banquet experience preferred. Baking experience a plus. Ability to review menus, test foods, plan cooking schedules, and read and follow recipes is essential job functions. Must be familiar with sanitation requirements, safety and health regulations. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift/carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10-25 pounds frequently and be able to stoop, bend and squat. The candidate must be able to assist in culinary training program for other production staff to ensure continuous development. This is a full time, 40-hour week position with weekend catering work and occasional overtime. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Driver's license and good driving record required. Background check required.
