CSDVA Technology Facilitator
Title: Instructional Technology Facilitator
Reports to: Principal and Director of Programs and Services
Purpose: This individual provides training and support to the staff on technology integration and
implementing the vision of the school’s digital and visual focus and the NC Information and Technology
Essential Standards to promote student learning and teacher effectiveness.
The employee assists with identifying, acquiring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network
products. This individual also assists in the planning and implementation of the building-level technology
plans, one to one learning initiatives, on-line learning, mobile device management and implementation,
distance learning, video distribution as well as on-line and face to face professional development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and Facilitating Teaching and Learning
● Collaborates with teachers and other instructional staff to develop curriculum materials and
specific
● lesson plans that integrate technology
● Models the integration of technology in all curriculum areas
● Facilitates school participation in technology programs and activities Conducts staff
development in the areas of technology integration, school adopted computer programs, and
technology equipment.
● Assist the test/data coordinator with the implementing required school assessments both face
to face and on-line.
● Follows a plan for professional development and actively seeks out opportunities to grow
● professionally.
● Assists in maintaining hardware, software, and network infrastructure
● Implements best practices related to technology use based on research, pilot programs, and
● state/national standards
● Works with the principal and school leadership team to provide access to technology resources
and
● services of the technology facilitator at point of need
● Works with administrators and teacher leaders in the selection of resources that are compatible
with the school technology infrastructure
● Assists with planning the design of the technology infrastructure so that information resources
are continually available to the school community
● Promotes family, business, and community partnerships that support the academic success,
career
● and college readiness, and general well-being of all children
● Adheres to and communicates copyright as well as other laws and guidelines pertaining to the
distribution and ethical use of all resources
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Effective communication and interpersonal skills preferred
● Knowledge of technology resources
● Knowledge and experience with social media
● Experience with Windows OS
● Knowledge and experience with MAC OS and iOS, specifically and iPads
● Experience with teaching/creating on-line professional development/courses
● Successful experience conducting Professional Development
