Street Superintendent
Norfolk, Nebraska

in Northeast Nebraska.
Under direction of the Public Works Director, coordinates and manages Street Division activities. Serves as the Division
leader and is responsible for development and implementation of an effective strategic plan. Oversees the planning and
utilization of the Division’s personnel, including hiring, training, and evaluation of staff. Responsible for the maintenance
and repair of streets, bridges, storm sewers and drainage channels, as well as maintenance of the right-of-way including
mowing, tree care, and landscape maintenance. Supervises the street supervisor, shop supervisor and Street Division
secretary. Knowledge of materials, methods, machinery and equipment used in street, right-of-way and drainage maintenance.
Ability to prepare bid specifications for equipment purchases and division maintenance projects. Oversees
operation and maintenance of traffic signals to ensure smooth flow of traffic. Assists in budget preparation and implementation,
as well as preparation of the One & Six Year Capital Improvement Plan and files annual report with the State
Board of Classification and Standards.
Must have valid CDL and Nebraska Driver’s License; ability to operate every piece of equipment and tool associated
with street maintenance including street sweeper, dump trucks, loaders, etc.; capable of working in adverse weather
conditions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public; ability to
supervise and prepare written evaluations of personnel. Salary $60,228 - $83,940/yr. Excellent fringe benefit package.
