Chatham Hall Advancement Office
Responsible for donor research, donor stewardship, grant writing, and tracking of donor cultivation. Oversees scheduling and completion of projects, mailings, and other support services through coordination of the Advancement Office calendar, coordination of personnel resources, and management of the operating and campaign budgets for Advancement. Manages the Database Manager and the Gift Recorder.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Researches and Tracks Major Gift Prospects (55%)
o Identify and Research Major Gift Prospects.
o Rate Prospects for major gifts.
o Write profiles on Major Gift Prospects.
o Research and rate new parents, new Trustees and new Alumnae Council members. o Develops and implements tracking system for lost alumnae.
o Oversees maintenance of all constituent files.
o Track campaign activity with campaign prospects using Raiser’s Edge software. o Follow up with fund-raising personnel on timely submission of visit/call reports. o Work Closely with the Advancement Office team to develop major gift strategies. o Help prioritize visits for fund-raising personnel and campaign volunteers.
Oversees Advancement Support Services (15%)
o Fields all requests for financial reports, all computer queries, mailing lists, and mailing support services.
o Oversees the flow of projects, mailings, and other support functions within the Advancement Office.
o With the Director of Advancement, manages the Advancement Office operating and campaign budgets.
o Manages the Database Manager and the Gift Recorder.
Takes Responsibility for Donor Relations Prospects (15%)
o Create a plan for donor recognition for all types of gifts to Chatham Hall. o With the Advancement Office team, implement above mentioned donor recognition plan. o Oversee communication of endowment reports and other reports for donors.
Researches Grant Prospects and Writes Grant Proposals (15%)
o Research Foundations.
o Prepare grant applications for foundations that are “good fits” for Chatham Hall and her needs; both capital and endowment.
o Create a library of proposals for campaign priorities to be used for major gift solicitations.
QUALIFICATIONS: The position requires excellent organizational and project management skills, strong written communication skill, and a proficient understanding of gift accounting. Experience in donor research or comparable research projects is needed. Computer skills are also essential. Proven team management and personnel management skills are needed. A bachelor’s degree is required and at least two years of advancement experience.
