Acting Executive Director
The Chatham County Housing Authority (CCHA) is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of
Acting Executive Director. The CCHA is a Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) only agency.
The ideal candidate will have management skills in public housing for managing day-to-day operations. This position requires experience with administering the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program and in the related areas of housing quality standard, Family Self Sufficiency, homeownership, NEDS, Mainstream and VASH programs; and a working knowledge of HUD regulations regarding public housing agencies and the Housing Choice Voucher Program, federal and state public housing regulations and compliance issues related to federal accounting, budget, and audit procedures, as well as eligibility, funding requirements relating to federal housing.
This position also requires knowledge of all HUD reporting requirements and processes that include but not limited to: the Annual and Five Year Plan, SEMAP, Voucher Management System; the Inventory Management System/PIH Information Center (IMS/PIC); Utilization and the Two-Year Tool; the preparation and maintenance of federal grant proposals for funding program operations and obtaining and/or maintain a Certified Housing Counseling certification; the understanding and planning for the housing needs of current and potentially eligible program participants including taking housing applications, screening of applicants, criminal history reports, and leasing,
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, public administration, community development, or a related field.
- At least five years of professional experience in real estate finance and/or affordable housing
development.
- Knowledge of Federal, state, and local entitlement programs.
- Experience working effectively with the public, private for-profit, and private non-profit sectors.
- Knowledge of regulatory environment.
- Competence in planning, financial analysis, and negotiation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in finance, public administration, community development, or a related field.
- Ten years of experience public housing agencies and the Housing Choice Voucher Programs

$60,000-78,000
