GROUP SALES – SALES EXECUTIVE (TOUR & TRAVEL)

Under minimal supervision, the Travel Industry Sales Manager supports CGA annual attendance and revenue goals by researching, soliciting and negotiating ticket sale agreements within all segments of the tour and travel industry. Travel Industry Sales Executive engages in professional, timely client service and tracks and analyzes sales trends, tour and travel trends and maintains current knowledge of competitive markets and industry best practices. Performs related event organizational work as required. Reports to Director of Sales.
Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for surpassing CGA Sales targets for CGA Tourism ticketing programs. In order to achieve sales targets: Makes sales calls, creates personalized flyers/sales collateral, participates in client events to promote the park and attend conferences, trade shows and industry sales missions to inform clients/trade on key CGA programs. Creates recommendations and advise on channel promotional collateral, pricing and product needs, supporting business case, in order to maximize sales
- Conducts in person “client visits” Develops sales action plan for each market segment within assigned territory or industry to develop and enhance new and existing accounts.
- Prepares sales presentations and training modules to tourism clients and industry, etc. to ensure full knowledge of CGA park offerings, ticket products and procedures. Prepares and conducts CGA “Specialist” webinars to travel agents who cannot travel to Santa Clara, CA.
- Track and analyze sales data and report changes to Director of Sales. Receive and review various records and reports. Refer to trade publications, news/business publications, pricing sheets, training materials, etc. to stay on top of industry trends and best practices.
- Works closely with the local area Convention and Visitor Bureaus, and State of California Tourism offices and participates in co-operative marketing and sales opportunities.
- Educates specific travel markets and local hotel concierge staff members on California’s Great America, and Water Park.
- Determines and negotiates ticket net rates, other package options and completes required contracts and paperwork for order/bar code submission following established standard operating procedures.
- Conducts sales calls to local clients, hotel concierge to initiate new sales, solicit leads and maintain client relationships.
- Participates in sales training and professional development sessions as required. Assists the Marketing and Sales team as assigned. Sometimes may represent Group Sales or Marketing as “marketing 1” on an as needed basis.
- Adheres to enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
- Works independently and with little direction and supervision to achieve annual travel industry sales goals; spending a minimum of 50% of time in the field soliciting and securing new business. Must have the ability to travel up to 10 consecutive days for business. Must have active passport to facilitate needed travel including domestic and international business.
