Recruiter/HR Administrator
We are seeking an outgoing, motivated individual to join our HR team as a Recruiter/HR Administrator. This position will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and assessing talent for purposes of aligning viable candidates fit with American State Bank's staffing needs. The recruiter manages the processes, administration and communication necessary to maintain a talent pipeline and assists in making effective hires that support the ASB talent strategy.
This position will also provide administrative support to the Human Resources Director, process biweekly payroll, and administer employee benefits.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Recruitment:
Ensures job descriptions and postings adequately represent and appropriately market the talent needs for ASB.
Supports the ASB staffing needs by utilizing passive and active recruiting tactics inclusive of, but not limited to: job postings, social media, networking, and job fairs. Expands talent pool search to include broader and more diverse candidate pools. Actively recruits for talent capacity that can address future needs.
Professionally represents ASB's values and culture through all marketing, communication and correspondence with potential candidates. Markets and sells the Employer Brand.
Pre-screens candidates using consistent interviewing technique; sets up interviews and assist Hiring Managers with interviewing. Provides assistance with face-to-face interviews for positions and coordinates the completion of assessments and reference checks. Provides ongoing communication with candidate through recruitment and selection process. Participates in the final recommendation for hiring.
Maintains an efficient background checks process (including drug screen) and follows through with Hiring Manager.
Tracks and reports on effective hiring sources, time to hire, and recruiting costs using the applicant tracking system. Leverages the applicant tracking system to organize and streamline the recruiting process (e.g., schedule interviews, establish notes, communicate with candidates, etc.)
Coordinates internal efforts needed to prepare resources for all new hires (through established processes). Follows up with the Hiring Manager to ensure they are prepared for employee onboarding. Maintains recruiting documentation and files in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Payroll:
Provides and prepares necessary data for the accurate completion of payroll. Monitors time and attendance, data for payroll preparation, prepares corresponding general ledger entries and maintains tax reporting prepared by the third party administrator.
Benefits:
Administers employee benefits programs to include monitoring eligibility, enrollment in programs, status change requests and qualifying events. Ensures active and terminating employees are advised of changes in benefits.
Position Requirements:
- Two to five years of similar or related experience.
- A two year college degree or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with social networking as a recruiting tool.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with an applicant tracking system.
- Working knowledge of Employment Labor and related laws and regulations, including but not limited to Equal employment opportunity company, american with disabilities act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, ERI.
